BLiTZ!: the Energy Drink range expands with new flavours

The Italian energy drinks market continues to confirm itself as a dynamic, high-rotation category. Over the latest twelve-month period measured, the segment reached a value of approximately €251 million, growing by +12.2% compared to the previous year, with volumes up +13.8%. The category also shows strong distribution penetration, confirming the central role of energy drinks within the beverage sector and the increasing diversification of the offer.

Against this backdrop, BLiTZ!, Atlante’s brand dedicated to energy drinks with caffeine and taurine, is expanding its range. Already available with the Regular 250 ml and Regular Sugar Free 250 ml references, BLiTZ! is now broadening its offer with new fruity flavours and a new format, strengthening its presence in a category increasingly driven by variety.

New flavours for a more complete range

The existing versions are now joined by three new references: Watermelon, Peach and Tropical Sugar Free. This choice is in line with market evolution, where the flavoured energy drinks segment is recording particularly positive performance.

Over the latest twelve-month period measured, Flavoured Energy Drinks grew by +38.7% in value and +40.0% in volume. This trend confirms consumer interest in fresher and more distinctive product profiles.

The Watermelon flavour introduces a fresh and thirst-quenching note, ideal for those looking for a fruity and recognisable alternative. Peach expands the range with a softer, rounder profile, while Tropical brings an exotic character to the assortment in a sugar-free version.

The growing role of sugar free

The new Tropical Sugar Free reference fits into a trend already visible in the market. The Light Energy Drinks segment recorded growth of +11.5% in value and +11.1% in volume. The data confirm the increasingly relevant role of sugar-free variants, which are able to appeal to consumers who pay attention to product composition without giving up the taste and functionality typical of the category.

The 500 ml format arrives

Alongside the new flavours, BLiTZ! is also introducing the new Regular 500 ml format, which complements the existing 250 ml can already present in the range.

The larger format responds to longer consumption occasions and strengthens the brand’s visibility on shelf. The ranking of the main market references also highlights a significant presence of 500 ml formats among the category’s best-performing SKUs, confirming the relevance of this format within the energy drinks segment.
