NewsAtlante Ice Creams: Greek, Plant-Based and High-Protein
Atlante continues to strengthen its presence in the ice cream market with a broad, modern offer that is perfectly aligned with the trends that are driving the market. From Greek yogurt in frozen form to oat-based plant-based alternatives and high-protein ice creams, the assortment covers the main areas of innovation in the segment and highlights three key drivers: origin, wellbeing and functionality. At the centre of this portfolio is the international brand Kri Kri, alongside established brands such as Pavlakis, innovative plant-based projects like Vegamo and functional lines such as GFF Go For Fit, which make it possible to consistently cover high value-added segments.
In this perspective, Atlante confirms its role as a strategic partner for the development of the ice cream category: the breadth of its assortment, the possibility of working on Private Label projects and the ability to promptly intercept the main market trends make the company a privileged interlocutor for modern distribution that wants to make the frozen department more distinctive, contemporary and in line with today’s consumer expectations.
Frozen Greek Yogurt, Plant-Based and High-Protein: Atlante’s Ice Cream Strategy
Chiara Martucciello, Ice Cream Category Manager at Atlante, describes the evolution of the ice cream market and how the company has built an assortment in line with new consumption trends.
“In a context where the ice cream market as a whole is recording a -3% decline in volume, the frozen Greek yogurt segment is moving in the opposite direction, with double-digit growth of +15% in MAT as of September 2025. This is a very clear signal, reinforced by the extremely positive performance of Greek yogurt in the total market, which is up +23% in volume compared to 2024. Consumers are looking for lighter products, with a recognisable origin and consistent with a balanced lifestyle, without giving up on pleasure.”
“In this dynamic scenario, we have worked to build an offer that is truly broad and high-potential for our modern distribution partners. With Kri Kri and Pavlakis we cover the world of frozen Greek yogurt, with Vegamo we enter the segment of oat-based plant-based ice creams, and with GFF Go For Fit we bring the high-protein trend into the frozen aisle. The goal is to offer a coherent portfolio that combines origin, wellbeing and functionality, giving retailers concrete tools to enhance the ice cream category and intercept new consumption habits.”
Kri Kri and Pavlakis: the authenticity of authentic frozen Greek yogurt
In the frozen Greek yogurt segment, Atlante is present in the market with two brands that are symbols of Mediterranean tradition: Kri Kri and Pavlakis.
Atlante strengthens its frozen Greek yogurt presence through the official distribution of Kri Kri in Italy, one of the benchmark brands in the world of Greek yogurt. The range offers authentic 100% Greek frozen yogurt, strained and packed in 320 g tubs, with a selection of flavours designed to meet different needs and tastes: plain, amarena, hazelnut, salted caramel, honey and a plain lactose-free version.
In 2025 the brand underwent an important packaging restyling, introducing a minimal design inspired by the landscapes and architecture of the Greek islands: essential packs, clean illustrations and visual imagery that conveys the Mediterranean nature of the product with elegance and evokes all the brightness and lightness of a summer by the sea. Each flavour is associated with a dedicated colour palette, simple yet immediately recognisable, which builds a strong visual identity for the range and makes the product modern, authentic and easy to read on shelf. The new pack thus brings the brand’s key values to the forefront – authentic Greek yogurt, balanced pleasure and a Mediterranean lifestyle – reinforcing the positioning of Kri Kri Greek Frozen Yogurt on the Italian market.

Alongside the tub line, Kri Kri snacks meet the growing demand for practical single-portion solutions: Greek frozen yogurt sticks with a fruit coating, in peach and amarena flavours, and ice cream sandwiches with a Greek yogurt filling, offered in multipacks of four 70 g pieces. These products broaden consumption occasions, from on-the-go snacking to indulgent breaks, while keeping the authenticity of Greek yogurt at the centre.
Alongside Kri Kri, Atlante continues to be present in the segment with Pavlakis, which also offers 100% Greek frozen yogurt, strained and packed in 320 g tubs, in a range of flavours designed to satisfy different targets – from plain to fruit flavours and a lactose-free version – with a strongly Greek-inspired design that ensures high visibility on shelf. For Pavlakis too, the range is completed by Greek yogurt-based sticks and ice cream sandwiches in multipack formats designed for sharing.

The combination of Kri Kri and Pavlakis thus allows Atlante to offer retailers a deep and complementary frozen Greek yogurt portfolio, capable of covering different price ranges, targets and consumption occasions within a category that is growing strongly. The union of Pavlakis and Kri Kri therefore consolidates an offer that is strong, credible and perfectly in line with a market segment that is still niche but growing rapidly.
Vegamo: oat-based plant-based ice creams
On the plant-based front, Atlante is presenting a major innovation for the 2026 season: oat-based plant-based ice creams, in the Avena & Matcha and Avena & Vaniglia variants.
The choice of oats responds to a well-established trend: it is the fastest-growing plant base in the beverage segment (+15.2% in value), thanks to its light taste, versatility and balanced nutritional profile.
The Avena & Matcha variant is a highly innovative product: it combines the creaminess of oats with the unique character of matcha tea, a superfood that is rapidly expanding in Europe and able to reach consumers who are curious and attentive to wellbeing and new trends.
The Avena & Vaniglia reference reinterprets one of the most popular flavours for the general public in a plant-based version, offering a creamy texture and full taste.

GFF Go For Fit: high-protein ice cream for those looking for taste and performance
The third pillar of the assortment is represented by GFF Go For Fit high-protein ice creams, which bring to the frozen aisle the high-protein trend already well established in other segments. The range includes flavours such as peanut, cocoa and vanilla and features a nutritional profile designed for those who practise sport, follow an active lifestyle or look for more balanced alternatives to include in their daily routine.
Each serving offers 30 g of protein, is lactose-free, reduced in sugar, a source of fibre, gluten-free, and delivers a creamy texture that keeps enjoyment at the centre of the experience. In this way, high-protein ice cream is not just a treat, but a choice that aligns with the needs of those who pay attention to macronutrients and ingredient quality, fitting easily into different consumption occasions—from a post-workout snack to an evening dessert.

Private Label: a strategic opportunity for Modern Distribution
A cross-cutting element that makes Atlante’s offer particularly competitive is the possibility of developing the main categories also in a Private Label perspective. Frozen Greek yogurt in buckets, sticks and ice cream sandwiches, oat-based plant-based ice creams and high-protein ice creams can be developed under the retailer’s brand, allowing Modern Distribution to build exclusive lines that are perfectly aligned with its positioning and shelf strategy.
This approach enables retailers to structurally cover today’s key trends—from the Mediterranean authenticity linked to Greek yogurt to the plant-based world, through to high-protein offerings and snack and multipack formats—making the frozen department more dynamic, distinctive and consistent with new consumption habits.
