Products & BrandsTwo New Italian Pasta Shapes Join Aldi’s Specially Selected Range
Atlante UK is pleased to be expanding its partnership with Aldi through the launch of two new products within the retailer’s Specially Selected Italian pasta range: Fusilloni and Conchiglioni.
The two shapes will join the Rigatoni and Bucatini already supplied through Atlante, broadening the collection and giving Aldi customers even more ways to enjoy authentic Italian pasta at home.
Discovering Fusilloni and Conchiglioni
Fusilloni and Conchiglioni have each been selected to expand their range, for their distinctive appearance, versatility, and ability to complement a wide variety of recipes.
Fusilloni is a larger version of the familiar fusilli shape. Its bold spirals provide plenty of surface area for sauces to cling to, making it particularly well suited to rich ragù’s, pesto and creamy sauces. Its generous size also gives the pasta a satisfying texture and creates a striking finished dish.
Conchiglioni, meaning “large shells”, has a curved shape that naturally holds sauces and ingredients. It can be served simply with a favourite sauce or filled and baked for a more indulgent meal, making it a versatile addition to the range.
Bringing greater variety to the pasta aisle
The introduction of Fusilloni and Conchiglioni reflects growing customer interest in more distinctive pasta shapes and Italian-inspired meals at home.
While classic formats remain an important part of the category, larger and more visually distinctive shapes can help customers experiment with different recipes and create meals that feel more special.
Growing our partnership with Aldi
The launch builds on Atlante’s existing partnership with Aldi and the continued development of its Specially Selected Italian pasta collection.
Our work together began with Rigatoni and Bucatini, with the Specially Selected Rigatoni going on to receive a Great Taste Award in 2025. The addition of Fusilloni and Conchiglioni marks the next stage of the range’s development.
Atlante has continued to work closely with Aldi across the commercial, technical and supply-chain elements of the project. This includes aligning the new products with Aldi’s category requirements, supporting quality and technical standards, and coordinating forecasting, production planning and logistics between Italy and the UK.
The launch demonstrates the value of a long-term retail partnership, allowing both teams to build on the success of the existing range and identify new opportunities for growth.
