The beginning of the journey
Atlante’s story began with Natasha Linhart’s entrepreneurial vision and passion for excellence. In the early years, the focus was on the European food landscape, sourcing products that met quality and price expectations for the Italian market.
Soy beverages and meat alternatives were the first additions to our portfolio, marking the start of a path driven by growth and innovation.
Establishing ourselves as a trusted partner
Placing professional ethics at the heart of our values has earned us the respect of producers and the trust of leading retailers. With strong foundations and long-standing relationships, Atlante quickly became a partner of choice for major Italian and international retail chains.
Opening up to European markets
Initially, Atlante focused on importing foreign products for the Italian market, but soon expanded its mission. By collaborating with major names in international distribution, it brought the best of Made in Italy to consumers around the world.
Showcasing the quality and variety of the Italian food tradition has become a cornerstone of our history and identity.
Collaboration with Migros
In 2011, Atlante entered a strategic alliance with Swiss retail group Migros. The partnership brought Swiss products to Italy while exporting Italian excellence to Switzerland. As a mark of this collaboration, Migros acquired a 20% stake in Atlante.
Growth in the UK
In 2014, Atlante became a strategic partner of Sainsbury’s, taking on responsibility for purchasing and quality control of Italian food destined for the UK market.
This collaboration enabled participation in major projects, strengthening our international footprint and creating a platform for future growth.
Entering new global markets
Since 2019, Atlante has extended its reach beyond Europe, building a presence in the United States, Canada, Korea, India, Japan, and South Africa.
Through partnerships with leading international retailers, we export expertise, innovation, and tailored solutions for consumers across the globe.
2021 – Atlante UK
In 2021, Atlante strengthened its international presence with the opening of Atlante UK, the British headquarters that consolidates partnerships with major UK retailers and supports business growth beyond Italy.
A concrete commitment to sustainability
Since 2020, Atlante has implemented a structured sustainability programme, led by a dedicated internal team. The initiative focuses on three key areas: environmental responsibility, with a drive to reduce emissions and waste; social progress, promoting ethics, inclusion, and equality; and supply chain engagement, encouraging producers to adopt more responsible practices.
In 2023, Atlante published its first ESG report, reinforcing our commitment to integrating sustainability across every part of the business.
2024
2024 marks an important milestone: 30 years of Atlante. Three decades of innovation and strong partnerships have established us as a leading force in the food industry.
In the same year, Atlante Food Service was formalised as a division dedicated to hospitality professionals, expanding our expertise into the out-of-home sector.
Today
Atlante is a trusted partner for major retailers in Italy and worldwide. With a team of over 120 people, more than 160 production sites and a catalogue of over 2,000 products, we operate in more than 25 international markets.
We collaborate with 130 clients in key regions including North America, Asia, South Africa, and Europe. In 2024, we achieved a turnover of €270 million and are on track to reach €300 million in 2025.
At the heart of this growth is our ability to combine expertise, flexibility, and foresight: anticipating trends, delivering tailored solutions, and building strong partnerships across the supply chain.
