The beginning of the journey

Atlante’s story is a journey into the world of retail, guided by Natasha Linhart‘s passion for excellence and entrepreneurial vision. In the early years, the focus was on the European food landscape, seeking specialties that met both quality and price expectations in the Italian market. Soy beverages and meat alternatives were the first products in our portfolio, marking the start of a path of growth and innovation.

L’apertura ai mercati europei

Se inizialmente Atlante si è concentrata sull’importazione di prodotti esteri per il mercato italiano, ben presto ha ampliato la propria missione. Collaborando con i grandi nomi della distribuzione internazionale, ha portato il meglio del made in Italy sulle tavole dei consumatori esteri. Far conoscere la qualità e la varietà della tradizione alimentare italiana è diventato un pilastro della nostra storia e identità.

In Switzerland with Migros

In 2011, Atlante launched a strategic partnership with Swiss retail giant Migros. The agreement aimed to bring Swiss products to Italy and export Italian excellence to Switzerland. As a sign of this alliance, Migros acquired a 20% stake in Atlante.

In the United Kingdom with Sainsbury’s

In 2014, Atlante became a strategic partner of Sainsbury’s, taking on the role of purchasing and quality control office for Italian food products destined for the UK market. This strong collaboration enabled participation in major projects, strengthening Atlante’s international presence and laying the foundations for future growth.

Expanding across the globe

Since 2019, Atlante has expanded beyond Europe, consolidating its presence in the United States, Canada, Korea, India, Japan, and South Africa. Through a network of collaborations with leading international retailers, we export know-how, innovation, and market expertise, developing tailored solutions for global consumers.

2021 – Atlante UK

In 2021, Atlante strengthened its international presence with the opening of Atlante UK, the British headquarters that consolidates partnerships with major UK retailers and supports business growth beyond Italy.

A concrete commitment to sustainability

Since 2020, Atlante has implemented a structured sustainability programme, led by a dedicated internal team. The initiative focuses on three pillars: environmental, aiming to reduce emissions and waste; social, promoting ethics and inclusion; and supply chain, actively engaging producers in more responsible practices. In 2023, Atlante published its first ESG report, demonstrating a commitment to integrating sustainability into every aspect of our work.

2024

2024 marks an significant milestone: 30 years of Atlante. Three decades of growth, innovation and strong partnerships have established us as a key player in the food industry. In the same year, Atlante Food Service was structured as a division dedicated to hospitality professionals, expanding our offering for the out-of-home consumption.

Atlante is a trusted partner for major retailers in Italy and worldwide. With a team of over 120 people, more than 160 production sites and a catalogue of over 2,000 products, we operate in more than 25 international markets. We collaborate with 130 global clients in strategic regions such as North America, Asia, South Africa, and Europe.
In 2024, we achieved a turnover of €270 million, setting a growth trajectory targeting €300 million in 2025. At the heart of this journey is an approach that combines expertise, flexibility, and vision: anticipating trends, delivering tailored solutions, and building strong relationships across the entire supply chain.
